The routes that were shown at the open houses were initial routes for routing studies, they can  and will shift and new alternatives are also likely to appear. First Energy does not have to have additional open houses and new alternatives can even appear during the state cases.    If you own property anywhere in the study area please complete the following list of items as soon as possible.

enter comments in the Valley Link North on-line Comment form on how this w

If your property is in a study area :

  • Read about  restrictions in transmission line easements, (wells, septic fields, barns, cemeteries ...)
  • Create a document  identifying, everything that would be affected up to and including the loss of your home, the impact on your business, the impact on your finances, health concerns ect,  list  conservation easements on your property, historical information,  does this effect multiple generations of your family ...be as detailed as possible.
  • At the end of your draft comments please include the statement : " There are no acceptable routes for a 765kV transmission line, the appropriate technology is underground HVDC bury the line, as is being used in the 185 mile all underground Heritage to Mosby transmission line."
  • Save your impact document. you will be able to use it if/when  you intervene in the case at the VA SCC.
  • Locate your property on the Valley Link North maps (Route Maps Available here) and cut and paste your comments into the Valley Link North comment form.  You could also send a copy to Valley Link North by certified mail.

If your property is not in a study area,  you can still submit comments! Submit your comments on the potential impacts to any parks, schools , churches , cemeteries ect. that you are aware of. Talk to your neighbors, friends and other groups in your county, cross post to conservation and historical groups and ask them to do the same.  Anyone can enter impacts,  and any property owner can send the no trespassing notice to Valley Link North to prevent them from surveying or accessing their property!

This case puts 17 property owners in  Gore, VA at risk for eminent domain takings , it also includes the Woodside Substation in Clear Brook . This line connects to FirstEnergy's Gore-Doubs - Goose Creek

VA SCC PUR-2026-00018 MARL Comment Form

Please include in your comments that the only viable alternative to overhead HVAC transmission lines that would preserve the value of private property, conservation easements and national and state parks affected by the MARL/Gore-Doubs-GooseCreek and Valley Link North transmission lines would be underground high-voltage direct current (HVDC).  HVDC can be buried in a trench 8' x 10' within existing easements or along highways or underwater.  If new ROW is needed for an underground HVDC line it only needs 40'.

Dominion has a 185 mile entirely underground HVDC transmission line project to bring energy from the south of Virginia to the data centers in Northern Virginia.

Frederick County, Virginia - Write a Letter to the Editor of a Local Newspaper

President Trump has gotten a pledge from the AI big tech billionaires to absorb the electric price increases and all infrastructure costs rather than making the citizens pay for them.

Now is a good time to let him know its not just the cost its Our Land and Our Property!!! The Data Center companies to pay to underground the lines needed to support their business. Underground HVDC technology - along public roads , in existing easements and underwater.

You can:

  •  Send an e-mail from the web form https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/
  • Call his office and speak to a person on the comment line 202-456-1111 Comments go quickly and the wait is not very long–line closes at 4pm and is not open on Fridays
  • Send a letter to

                  The White House

                  Office of the President

                 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.

                 Washington, DC 20500

Let President Trump know about the overhead HVAC transmission lines that and how it will impact you. There are 5 overhead HVAC lines proposed for the  Mid Atlantic just to support Data Center Alley (3-500kV plus 2-765kV) This is @16,194 acres of private property - almost all of it subject to eminent domain takings! Destroying homesteads, farms and businesses.

Property owners in multiple counties in Virginia and West VA are facing two lines - the 500kV Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link/Gore-Doubs-GooseCreek line, 154 miles on 185ft mono-poles and the 765vK  Valley Link North line, 261 miles   on V-structs with guyed wires.

Talk about how the overhead transmission lines will destroy your property, the equity in your home, quality of life about the harm from EMF’s.

Emphasize that the transmission developers refuse to consider an underground HVDC solution when they already know (2009 study) its doable. There multiple underground HVDC lines on the East Coast. Dominion has been  awarded a 185 mile all underground HVDC line from Southern Virginia to the Northern Virginia data centers.

There is no excuse to not use underground HVDC technology, these are trillion dollar companies run by billionaires.
