WELTON SPRINGS 765 kV SUBSTATION PROPOSAL

The Welton Springs substation is part of the Valley Link 765kV project.   This 765kV substation is to manage / maintain the voltage level of the Valley Link line to compensate for the voltage losses that HVAC transmission lines incur over large distances.  Substations of this voltage typically cover 80 to 120 acres, 765kV substations are  huge industrial sites.  

No property site has beenpurchased.  It is likely to be sited somewhere in Frederick or Clarke County in Virginia or Jefferson County, West Virginia.
